মহাবিশ্ব সংক্রান্ত ধারণার মধ্যে অন্যতম ব্ল্যাক হোলের ধারণা-যেখানে কিনা মধ্যাকর্ষণ শক্তি এত তীব্র যে কিছুরই সেখান থেকে মুক্তি নেই-এমনকি আলোরও না। রহস্য ও বিস্ময় ঘিরে আছে ব্ল্যাক হোলের ধারণাকে কেন্দ্র করে।
একজন নারী, একখণ্ড সাদা কাপড় আর মহাবিশ্ব এই তিনটি মিলে এই নাটক।
একজন সাধারণ মানুষ তত্ত্বীয় পদার্থবিদ্যা থেকে আইডিয়া নিয়ে শুরু করে, স্থান ও কালের নতুন তত্ত্ব দাঁড় করাতে চেষ্টা করে আর মহাবিশ্বের সাথে নিজের (নারী হিসেবে) সম্পর্ককে চেষ্টা করে খোঁজার। ‘স্বাতন্ত্র্যে’র ধারণা নাটকের প্রথম থেকে শেষ পর্যন্ত: অভিজ্ঞতার স্বতন্ত্রতা-যা সম্পূর্ণ নিজের ভেতর বিদ্যমান-আর ব্ল্যাক হোলের মধ্যকার স্বতন্ত্রতাও যেখানে সময় ও স্থানের ধারণা কখনো থাকে কখনো থাকে না।
জ্যোতিঃপদার্থ বিজ্ঞানের আইডিয়া মিশে যায় ব্যক্তির আখ্যানের সাথে-প্রেম, পরাজয়, মরণশীলতা, অভিজ্ঞতার সীমা এবং শরীর সব কিছুকে বিচার করতে চায় নাটকটি। জ্ঞানতৃষ্ণা, অভিজ্ঞতা অর্জনের আকাক্সক্ষা এবং এগুলো কীভাবে আমাদের মহাবিশ^ সংক্রান্ত চিন্তাকে গ্রন্থিবদ্ধ করে সে কথা বলে এই নাটক।
পারফরমেন্সের জায়গা থেকে এটি বাস্তব এবং সাধারণ থেকে অবাস্তব ও ফ্যান্টাসির জগৎ, স্বপ্নময় দৃশ্যকল্প ও শব্দকল্প নিয়ে তৈরি-স্থান ও কালের ধারণাকে বুনন করে বহিঃবিশ্ব এবং অন্তঃবিশ্বকে বোঝার উদ্দেশ্যে।

Amongst cosmological objects, black holes—regions in space time where the gravitational force is so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape—have a special place, evoking a sense of mystery and awe for physicists and ordinary people alike.

A woman, a single white sheet and the cosmos—these are the three elements that comprise this work.

An ordinary person begins to explore ideas from theoretical physics, delving into theories of space and time in an attempt to find a greater engagement with the Universe and with herself.

The notion of ‘singularities’ forms a running theme through the piece: both the singularity of our experience of the self—entirely contained and accessible to oneself alone—and the singularity inside a black hole, a point where space and time fold in on themselves and disappear.

As concepts from astrophysics intertwine with personal narratives exploring love, loss, mortality, experiential limits, and the bodies we live in, the piece examines our thirst for knowledge, our hunger for experience, and how the two combine to create our understanding of the cosmos we inhabit .

In terms of the performance language, it moves between real and mundane, the scientific, and the dream like—images, sounds and text forming a fabric of space time that explores the outer cosmos and the inner cosmos.
