Md. Aminul Haq, widely known as Bratto Amin, was born on 13 May 1981 in Rupganj, Narayanganj, Bangladesh (although his academic records list 1 June 1981 as his date of birth). Bratto began his cultural journey as a theatre activist in 2001. In 2004, he started working professionally as a puppeteer with Nayantara Communications. His transition into filmmaking began in 2010 with the television drama Ami Joya Bolchi, which earned the Best Story Award at the Charunirom Fiction Festival. In 2011, Bratto joined Ekattor Television as an Assistant Producer. During his time there, he directed his first independent short documentary film, Pataka. The film received the Best Young Documentary Filmmaker Award at the 6th International Festival of Docufilms on Liberation and Human Rights, organized by the Liberation War Museum. In 2014 he won another accolade at the 1st Chittagong International Short and Documentary Film Festival for his documentary 36-24-36. Bratto Amin completed a Diploma in Filmmaking from the Bangladesh Cinema and Television Institute during the 2014–15 session. In August 2015, he joined Deepto Television as a Producer. During his tenure, he produced more than fifteen television documentaries. Among them, Operation Jackpot received the Best Documentary Film Award at the 2nd Bangladesh Short and Documentary Film Festival 2018, organized by the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. In 2021, Bratto returned to his roots and embraced a new chapter of life in his village. Inspired by nature and sustainable living, he began working to establish an organization called Prakrito Shomaj, dedicated to promoting environmentally conscious lifestyles and encouraging people to live in harmony with nature.
