Niranjan Kumar Das began his cultural journey during his school years. From an early age, he was deeply drawn to art, literature, and the world of theatre. After completing his secondary education, he enrolled in the Drama Department of Bogura Shilpakala Academy, where he received his formal introduction to acting and stagecraft.
During the early phase of his theatre practice, he performed in productions such as Manoj Mitra’s Chokhe Angul Dada and Shotti Bhuter Goppo, S. M. Solaiman’s Khyapa Paglar Pyachal, Shubhankar Chakraborty’s Mora, and Rabindranath Tagore’s Khyatir Birambona. These experiences played a significant role in shaping his artistic sensibility and strengthening the foundation of his acting practice.
Although personal and practical realities led him to step away from theatre for nearly a decade, his connection with cultural activism never faded. After moving to Dhaka, he became involved with the recitation organisation Shor Banjan and the literary gatherings of the progressive cultural organisation Progotir Poribrajok Dol (PROPAD). Through recitation, cultural movements, and progressive artistic engagement, he continued to nurture his creative and social consciousness.
In 2022, Niranjan returned to theatre through BotTala’s acting school, Actors Studio, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his artistic journey with the theatre troupe BotTala. In the same year, he played the central character in Shompurno Kalponik, a stage adaptation based on an absurd story by Bimal Bandyopadhyay, which became a significant milestone in his acting career.
Currently, he is working regularly as an actor with BotTala Theatre. His performances in productions such as Khona, Bonyotherium, Sokhi Rongomala, and Yojongondha Maya have already drawn attention from audiences for their emotional depth and expressive stage presence.
Through acting, organisational involvement, and collective theatrical practice, Niranjan Kumar Das continues to shape himself as a dedicated theatre practitioner.
