A deep passion for culture and creative expression has drawn Monira Khatun Sristy into the vibrant world of arts and culture from an early age. After completing her Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) from Narayanganj Government Women's College, she is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Management at Narayanganj Government Tolaram College. Alongside her academic journey, cultural activities have become an integral part of her identity.
She has been actively involved with the Khelaghar Movement for nearly 18 years, growing into a dedicated cultural activist through her long association with the organization. She currently serves as a committee member of Dingi-Pansi Khelaghar Asor and is a founding member as well as the Organizing Secretary of Tushar Khelaghar Asor. She is also an active member of the Dhaka Central Branch of Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigoshthi.
Her journey with the theatre troupe Bottala began with a passion for acting. She is a graduate of the 8th batch of Actors Studio, Bottala’s acting training school. During her training, she made her stage debut in the school production “Tatro Pore Jotro Dogdho”, marking the beginning of her theatrical journey. Over time, she has become a familiar and regular performer in Bottala’s productions.
She currently performs regularly in several of Bottala’s acclaimed productions, including “Khona,” “Yojongondha Maya,” “Sokhi Rongomala,” and “Bonnatherium.” Through each character she portrays, she explores human stories, emotions, and reflections of contemporary life. While her performances come alive under the stage lights, her creative pursuits extend beyond the stage as well.
In addition to acting, she works as a Costume Designer for television dramas and commercials. Her ability to express a character’s inner world through costume design has added another dimension to her artistic identity.
Through the harmonious blend of organizational leadership, acting, and design, Monira Khatun Sristy has established herself as a dedicated cultural practitioner who embraces the arts not merely as a profession or hobby, but as an inseparable part of her way of life.
