Tamashanagar Model Thana
About This Event
Tamashanagar Model Thana is a political play centered on the contemporary administrative system, the arrogance of power, and the farce of the judicial process . The story follows a young woman who is raped by a local member after going to collect relief supplies. Instead of filing a case, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the police station refuses to cooperate and advises her father to remain silent or leave the area with his daughter. However, when a university student protests this injustice on Facebook, followers of the local Member of Parliament (MP) bring charges of defamation against him. Rather than pursuing justice for the rape, the OC exploits the Digital Security Act to order the immediate arrest of the protesting student without any proof. The play exposes the naked reality of a justice system where the state and those in power fear the protester more than the criminal.
