About This Event
Tumi Bangladesh is a street protest play that depicts contemporary social and political crises in Bangladesh and the suppression of freedom of speech. The play's structure is highly symbolic, featuring actors who encounter resistance from both state and non-state forces when attempting to speak on matters of public importance. Throughout the performance, a photographer captures scenes of this suppression, only to be eventually detained by the police. At times when the actors are silenced, several members of the audience stand up with placards to bring forward issues such as the "Digital Security Act," "Bank Looting," "Question Paper Leaks," and "Fundamentalism".
